The brackets palette contains all of the common types of parentheses, brackets, and braces that grow with the size of the expression they contain. These structures should be used instead of directly typing opening and closing delimiters in most cases.
After a bracket has been added to an equation, it can be modified through the Properties command. That opens the Bracket Properties dialog, where the left and right delimiting characters can be changed independently. The number of groups inside a bracket can also be expanded.
